Design Competition For The New Guggenheim Museum | Helsinki, Finland, Europe
The design competition was organized by Solomon R. Guggenheim Foundation.
Located along the port area of the city in keeping with Alvar Aalto’s Enso Gutzeit building, the museum concept starts from the upside-down spiral of the New York museum of the same name designed by Frank Lloyd Wright.
The external shape derives from the study carried out on the distribution of natural light within the building.
Huge light conductors have been designed on the roof. The light become the central element in the planning and creation of space.
